My Three Angels, circa 1953, is based on Albert Husson's book in which three convicts play Robin Hood to a family besieged by coniving relatives. The convicts take on the intruders, and by their warm hearts and sunny natures, and expertise of crime they make possible a Merry Christmas where, Time Magazine pointed out, it is easier "to bump Scrooge off then convert him."
